MLK Day to alter trash pickup schedule

Newton City offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which will also alter the trash pickup schedule. Trash normally picked up on Monday will be picked up on Tuesday, Jan. 20. Trash normally collected on Tuesday will be picked up on Wednesday, Jan. 21.

Newton residents will have more opportunities to share their thoughts about the community's future at public events next month. A two-day Planning & Design Workshop for the City of Newton’s new comprehensive plan, Newton Next, is set for Feb. 3-4.
