Substance Abuse Board accepting grant requests

The Newton Substance Abuse Board is seeking applications for grants to fund programs or services whose principal purpose is:

• Alcoholism and drug abuse prevention and education.
• Alcohol and drug detoxification.
• Intervention in alcohol and drug abuse.
• Treatment of alcoholism or drug abuse.

The application is available for download(PDF, 183KB). Submission deadline is July 17. Funds will be disbursed Aug. 3-4.

Funding for the Substance Abuse Board comes from liquor tax revenues allocated through the State’s local alcoholic liquor fund.
