The barricaded subject incident in the area of Summer Drive and Old Main has concluded.
The individual involved is unharmed and in custody, and the area has been reopened to traffic. There is no ongoing threat to the public.
Law enforcement personnel are executing search warrants as part of the ongoing investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

The Newton Police Department is responding to an armed barricaded suspect connected to a serious domestic violence investigation. The incident began between 6 and 6:30 a.m. near Summer Drive and Old Main and remains active near Old Main Street and 24th Street.
Arrest warrants have been secured for the suspect. The victim is safe and secure.
The department's top priority is protecting nearby residents, responding officers and the public while working to resolve the situation safely. Residents in the immediate area have been instructed to shelter in place or are being assisted in safely leaving the neighborhood, depending on their location.
The public is asked to avoid the area near Old Main Street and 24th Street until the incident has been resolved. Motorists should use alternate routes and avoid entering the affected neighborhood.
