One man died Saturday afternoon in a grain bin accident in the 2000 block of South Spencer.
Newton Fire/EMS crews responded around 2:30 p.m. and found two individuals trapped in the grain bin. One man was immediately pronounced dead. The second man was buried up to his neck in grain.
Crews were able to hand dig him out. He declined transport to the hospital after assessment at the scene.
A third man who had been in the bin was able to pull himself out before crews arrived.
The victim’s family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers.
