A 21-year-old Newton man is in custody for the attempted murder of his 2-month-old daughter.
The case originated from an emergency room visit on Aug. 26 for the child, who was immediately taken into police protective custody.
Newton Police arrested the baby’s father, Logan G. Dick, later that night. He is being held in Harvey County Detention Center on three separate charges of attempted murder stemming from different incidents of abuse, as well as aggravated endangerment of a child and obstructing apprehension or prosecution.
Dick is being held on a $1.5 million bond.
The investigation is still in the early stages, and additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
