The processor inside the traffic signal at Southeast 14th and Kansas has gone out, causing very long wait times for drivers.
On Tuesday evening, City staff will put the signal into flash mode, with flashing yellow lights north and southbound, and flashing red lights east and westbound.
At a flashing yellow light, you should slow down and proceed with caution through the intersection, yielding to any pedestrians or vehicles already in the intersection. At a flashing red light, you must come to a complete stop and proceed only when it is safe, the same as a stop sign.
A replacement processor will not be available until Tuesday, Dec. 2, at the earliest. In the meantime, drivers should exercise caution when going through this busy intersection.
