All dogs and cats 6 months old or older in the City of Newton must be licensed. Animal Licenses are issued in the Water Billing Office on the first floor of City Hall, 201 E 6th. To get an animal license, you must have proof of current rabies certificate and, if applicable, proof of the animal being spayed/neutered.

Fees are due for dogs and cats on January 1 (later penalty fee applies after March 1).

Fees:     Neutered male or spayed female $10.00

Other dogs and cats $40.00

Additional penalty if not paid by dates listed above     $10.00
If dog or cat is micro-chipped fees are reduced by $5.00

If you have additional questions about getting your animals licensed, contact the Water Billing Office, 316-284-6007, during business hours. Please contact the Water Billing Office if you no longer have the dog or cat.
