Newton Police Department offers community training on the ALICE active shooter curriculum.
The training is open to any businesses, organizations or individuals in the community. Our next class is from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. April 18 at Grace Community Church, 1600 S. Anderson Road.
ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) is a set of proactive, options-based strategies, that increase your chances of survival during a violent intruder or active shooter event. For 14 years, the ALICE Training Institute has provided violent intruder response training to individuals and organizations across the nation.
This training is one hour of powerpoint, and one hour of scenarios. The training is free of charge.
