Playground and Shelter

Centennial Park is the location for the majority of the City's ball fields. Klein-Scott and Kenny Williams fields host games for the Newton High School, American Legion, and Babe Ruth teams while the smaller fields host youth league games. The soccer and flag football fields host a variety of youth leagues throughout the year. A restroom is located near these fields and is open seasonally for the convenience of the sports field and Bike Path patrons. For questions or more information about the ball fields, please contact the Newton Recreation Commission at 316-283-7330.

Centennial Park 1An open shelter is located in the circle drive in the eastern portion of the park with restrooms, barbeque grills, picnic tables, and two playground areas. The shelter can accommodate up to 32 people, and more tables and trash barrels can be provided upon request. For questions regarding the shelter, please contact the Newton Park Department at 316-284-6083.

SH1Centennial Park is adjacent to the Bike Path and has a sledding hill located to the northwest of the main park that can be utilized during the snowy winter months. The Blue Sky tile sculpture, a public art piece for community viewing, is located within the park as well.
