Utility billing changes during City Hall closure
During the closure at Newton City Hall, utility bills are not being printed or mailed. But meters are still being read, and residents can view their account balance online at www.municipalonlinepayments.com/newtonks.
Normal billing dates still apply. If you usually get a bill on the 1st of the month, the balance will show on your account on that date. Paper statements will be mailed once City Hall reopens.
Late fees and shut-offs have been suspended during this time. Payments can still be mailed or dropped in the drop boxes at City Hall or Dillons. Credit card payments can be made on the website. If you have automatic bank drafts set up, that will occur as usual.
Residents should use the website to check balances if possible, but if they do not have internet access, they can call the Utility Billing Office at 316-284-6007. Phone lines have been very busy, so please leave a message if you don’t get through.
The City of Newton closed City facilities to the public on March 25 to protect the health of City employees and the public and help limit the spread of the coronavirus.
