Paving work moving north on Old Main
Old Main Street will be closed north of Southeast 10th Street beginning Monday, Dec. 9 for repaving, weather permitting.
The contractor, Cornejo & Sons, expects to complete pavement work south of 10th Street this weekend and reopen that section of roadway after 8 a.m. Monday morning. Then pavement removal and reconstruction will begin between 10th and Ninth Streets and move northward throughout the week to the Slate Creek bridge.
Residents in the affected blocks will have to park on side streets and walk in. On trash/recycle collection days, residents should put out containers by 7 a.m. as usual and City crews will walk in to collect materials.
After the change, families accessing South Breeze Elementary and Newton Bible Christian School will need to enter and exit from the south on Old Main or from the east on Southeast 10th.
