Newton Police offer active shooter classes
Newton Police Department will offer a class in April about survival strategies during active shooter incidents.
The free training will be from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. April 18 at Grace Community Church, 1600 S. Anderson Road. The class is open to any businesses, organizations or individuals in the community.

ALICE training, which stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate, empowers individuals to make their own survival decisions using proactive strategies, should they be faced with a violent intruder, active shooter, or other unexpected event.
