Expert on domestic violence to speak in Newton
A nationally renowned lecturer on community response to domestic violence will speak next week in Newton.
Father Charles Dahm is director of the Archdiocese of Chicago Domestic Violence Outreach, the largest parish-based domestic violence program in the United States. He will speak about what community organizations and individuals can do to respond to those in abusive situations.
He will speak at noon Monday, Dec. 3 at The Gathering Church, 518 N. Main. The event is open to the public, with special invitation to local agencies and those in organizational leadership roles such as work supervisors, pastors and administrators.
The event is hosted by the Harvey County Community Response to Domestic Violence, including the City of Newton, Offender/Victim Ministries, Harvey County, SafeHope and Heart 2 Heart Child Advocacy Center.
