Newton Police offer active shooter classes
Newton Police Department has begun monthly classes for the community on survival strategies during active shooter incidents.
ALICE training, which stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate, empowers individuals to make their own survival decisions using proactive strategies, should they be faced with a violent intruder, active shooter, or other unexpected event.
The free training will be on the third Thursday of each month at Grace Community Church, 1600 S. Anderson Road. Both morning and afternoon classes will be available.
Registration is available online at www.newtonkansas.com/ALICEtraining.
The training is open to any businesses, organizations or individuals in the community.
